Mainly due to mismanagement of their current frying pans, people will usually have to replace every couple of years due to their non-stick effect wearing off. If they were to change their cooking habits in just a couple of ways, they could extend the lifespan of their frying pan by a number of years.
The two biggest causes for poor maintenance of cookware is using metal cooking utensils on non stick surfaces and dumping their cookware straight into water after they’ve finished cooking.
Metal shouldn’t be used when cooking in most instances, but it is definitely something that should be avoided for frying pans as they will cause minute scratches on the surface over time, quickly eroding the surface into something which will no longer stop things from sticking.
Dumping cookware into water straight off the stove while they are still really hot is also something which needs to be avoided, particularly metal cooking devices. This is because when metal is heated and then cooled really quickly it will start to warp and bend. Warped metal cookware is definitely less effective as a cooking tool.
