Fondues have existed since the 1930s and they were originally a dish of melted cheese, which is heated by a candle , and eaten by dipping freshly baked bread into the cheese. Whilst that’s still popular today in countries like Italy and Sweden, it’s all about the chocolate for me and my family.
It’s great with fruit
Combining chocolate with fruit makes it seem a little less naughty, and I often make chocolate fondue for my guests, giving them strawberries to dip into the lavish fountain of chocolate.
It brings the family together
It’s fun to eat, and the whole family usually gets involved. No matter how old or young you are, you can’t say no to a bit of melted chocolate, and it has to go down as the number one part food.
