We’re not usually fans of novelty kitchen items but this is one we couldn’t resist. We recently purchased the Smart Breakfast Master toaster and it’s been a big hit in our fmaily home! We’ve only used it when our sistant family has stayed over, but it really did go down a storm. It’s a large toaster, which allows you to steam boil no less than six eggs at any one time, whilst toasting bread too. It could probably do with more toast slots, but we’ve just used it alongside our standard toaster, and it’s a nice way to make breakfast without any hassle. Everything is ready at one time if you get the timings right, and it actually looks very stylish for a ‘novelty kitchen item’. At under £50 it’s definitely worth buying if you love new kitchen appliances.
Making frothier hot chocolate
A milk frother is a powerful tool, but it’s not just great for whipping up the milk in a milkshake or a coffee, it can also work delightfully with a cup of hot cocoa. The best hot chocolates are made using hot milk and chocolate. Nothing more and nothing less. That said, when you throw a milk further into the mix too, you have one of the best hot chocolates. It smoothly whips the milk into a creamy texture, which really complements the velvety texture of cocoa powder. Milk frothers aren’t expensive at all, and they’re very easy to use, whilst they can fit into any small kitchen cupboard or drawer. We recommend you invest in one if you haven’t already because there’s always going to be a time when they come in handy, and they’ll certainly help you impress guests with great tasting hot drinks!
Why you can never have too many serving bowls
If there’s one thing we have too many of in my house, it’s serving bowls. I don’t know if it’s purely an obsession of mine, or just strange luck, but I’m sure I have one in every colour. The great thing with serving bowls is that there are so many unique designs, and because they’re created for parties and important occasions, they have a bit more elegence and style than most standard bowls.
My Moroccan themed serving bowls are brimming with vibrant colours and intricate details, and I’ll often fill them with crisps or nuts and sit them on my coffee table when guests pop over. Join me, don’t settle for one or two bowls because you never know how many guests you’re going to have round in the not too distant future. Remember, it’s a good opportunity to impress.
Cleaning your oven
Nobody likes doing it, but it’s one of those tasks that needs to be done if you want to maintain a clean kitchen. Cleaning out the oven is something many people will be doing before the start of the new year, but you don’t need to hire a professional, there are many affordable products out there.
In most supermarkets you can pick up ‘oven cleaning kits’, and these can ensure your oven is squeaky clean on the inside, whilst glass cleaner can give you a crystal clear door on the outside. Even if you don’t have specialist equipment on hand, you’ll be surprised at how much cleaner you can make an oven with just a dab of hot water and washing up liquid. Make sure you take the time to clean your oven before the New Year if you haven’t already, because it’s never nice to start the New Year feeling grim!
Smoothie Makers – Start the day healthier
Honestly, it’s ridiculous how expensive a smoothie is from your local supermarket or corner shop. Why should a small amount of fruit blended cost so much, it just doesn’t make sense? If you find these prices as ludicrous as us, then you may want to consider buying a smoothie maker. There are now many different types to choose between, some might be more powerful than others, some might have more settings, but they essentially do the same job.
Whether you want to create a smoothie as part of a post workout snack, or as an uplifting meal to consume before the working day, you can save a lot of money with a smoothie maker. Think how much you pay for apples, bananas and strawberries every month, and compare the price to a single smoothie from a well known brand, it doesn’t add up. If you’re a smoothie lover, get yourself a blender this year, and start making some serious savings!
